RESCUE INC. EARNS 2010 SERVICE OF THE YEAR AWARD
Agency Recognized at Vermont State EMS Conference in Burlington
BRATTLEBORO, VT. – March 29th, 2010 – Rescue Inc., the Brattleboro based,
non-profit emergency care provider, earned the prestigious Ambulance Service Of
The Year award at the annual Vermont EMS Conference held in Burlington, VT.
This award is intended to recognize one outstanding Vermont based EMS
organization for excellence in operations and service to its community.
In accepting the commendation at Saturday’s EMS Awards Ceremony, Chief of
Operations Mark Considine noted, “I am extremely proud of the work that Rescue
Inc. is doing in our southern Vermont and New Hampshire communities. In accepting
this award on behalf of all Rescue’s personnel, I wish to also recognize the support
we receive from area businesses and residents, as well as our partners including first
responders, fire departments, hospitals, and emergency management personnel who
support Rescue Inc.’s efforts in the field and behind the scenes.”
In addition to maintaining a record of clinical excellence, the criteria for Service Of
The Year requires that the nominee to be active in local public education and injury
prevention, both areas that Rescue Inc. is involved in through its Community
Training Center and Vermont SafeKids program.
Rescue’s nomination was initially submitted by Putney resident Eva Greene whose
husband was critically injured in April, 2009 and treated and transported by Rescue
Inc. personnel on the scene. Reflecting on the news that Rescue had been named as
2010 service of the year, Ms. Greene said, “I don't know how we can ever thank
Rescue. What this team did to save Brad’s life demanded the highest level of skill
and courage.”
In one of many letters submitted in support of Rescue’s nomination, Dr. Lisa
Patterson, Director of Trauma Service at Baystate Medical Center
noted, “The pre-hospital personnel did an outstanding job in terms of the initial
patient care and transport. I would like to commend your organization for the
outstanding job in pre-hospital care in the Brattleboro area.”
